The same thing happened consistently: the strategy was right, and it dissolved somewhere between the room and the people who had to act on it. This is the instrument he built to find out where.

The research
Julia Dhar and her colleagues at BCG put an undescribed change to six thousand people in a dozen countries, a thousand executives and five thousand everybody else. Seventy per cent of the executives felt positive about a change they knew nothing about. Fewer than half of everybody else did.
